Rauner Waffles on Gun Bills While Claiming Stance is “Crystal Clear”

Chicago, IL – Bruce Rauner claimed he’s been “crystal clear” about his stance on the gun bills making their way through Springfield, despite the fact that even Bruce Rauner seems to be unsure about where he stands.
While legislators are taking swift action and passing legislation to curb gun violence, Rauner has taken a back seat to avoid making waves with his primary less than two weeks away. Advocates are calling on Rauner to take a stand to help keep our communities safe, and JB Pritzker has called on him to immediately sign the Gun Dealer Licensing Act, but he refuses.
“With a hotly-contested primary around the corner, Bruce Rauner would rather play politics than do what’s right and sign commonsense bills that will keep Illinoisans safe,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Lives are on the line as Bruce Rauner refuses to take a stand and lets critical legislation sit on his desk.”
