Bruce Rauner Failed to Collect Over $2.5 Million in Federal Funds
Chicago, IL – Despite the bill backlog tripling because of Bruce Rauner’s manufactured budget crisis, the failed governor decided not to collect over $2.5 million in federal funds owed to the state.
A state audit said Rauner’s Office of Management and Budget failed to collect $2.4 million in rebates from the federal government on state payments on bond debt. The audit also found Rauner’s OMB overstated investment income and reported inaccurate financial disclosures to the Comptroller’s office.
“Bruce Rauner’s fiscal mismanagement knows no bounds,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “While the state continues to grapple with worst-in-the-nation finances thanks to Rauner’s constant crises, he still left millions on the table for payments to state debt that Rauner himself tripled.”
