Bruce Rauner Stumbles to the Finish Line

Chicago, IL – As Bruce Rauner stumbles into the final days of the Republican primary versus a surging challenger, his campaign is flailing, pointing fingers, and spreading fake news in an attempt to salvage the failed governor’s re-election hopes.
Yesterday, Rauner hid from the press with no public schedule as the National Review ran yet another article attacking the Worst Republican Governor in America. The failed governor’s campaign still managed to take credit for a non-existent endorsement, forcing Republican Congressman Darin LaHood to distance himself from Rauner and his toxic poll numbers. Now, after spending millions and months meddling in the Democratic primary, Rauner is holding a press conference complaining about Democrats.
“As his primary opponent surges, Bruce Rauner is stumbling through the finish line, desperately grasping for a positive headline and attempting to blame anybody but himself for his flailing campaign,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “This governor is a failure and Illinoisans of all political stripes are ready to hold him accountable for his damage done.”
