Rauner Accuses Quincy Staff of Lying About Legionnaires Crisis
Failed Governor Still Has No Regrets on Fatal Mismanagement of Quincy Veterans’ Home
Chicago, IL – As Bruce Rauner faced another editorial board meeting today, he doubled down on his defense of his fatal mismanagement of the Quincy Veterans’ Home, where 13 died from a Legionnaires’ outbreak. After the failed governor was confronted with revelations that state employees were left to learn of the outbreak from media reports, he desperately went on the attack and even accused Quincy staff of lying.
“Bruce Rauner is now accusing the public servants on the frontlines of the Legionnaires crisis in Quincy of lying,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Thirteen of Illinois' heroes and their spouses died on Bruce Rauner’s watch and their loved ones deserve more than desperate cover ups and spin from this failed governor.”
