Rauner "Shakes up Springfield" with a Staff Implosion
Chicago, IL — Bruce Rauner’s two-and-a-half years of failed leadership are coming to a head as his administration implodes in real time. Long-time advisers and loyal senior staff are being unceremoniously forced out and a top campaign strategist decided enough was enough and called it quits.
The purge signals a hard-right turn for Bruce Rauner, who spent the first two years of his term forcing devastation on Illinois families with a 736-day budget crisis. Rauner’s new team comes directly from the Koch network-funded Illinois Policy Institute, and has argued for stripping Illinoisans of their Medicaid coverage, slashing social service spending, and gutting education funding.
“Here's our dose of radical candor: the Rauner administration is imploding,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Bruce Rauner is letting far right radicals with little experience run the government of this state. In his delayed response to a natural disaster and continued silence on Trumpcare, Rauner has already demonstrated the devastating impacts this team of amateur extremists could have on Illinois."
