Damage Done: Rauner Fails to Stop Legionnaires Outbreak at Quincy Veterans Home
Chicago, IL – A third Illinois Veterans Home resident was diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease in the past month under Bruce Rauner’s failed leadership.
The new cases follow a 2015 outbreak that left 12 dead and 54 sickened at the same Quincy facility. Rauner’s failing to stop the Legionnaires outbreak just adds to the damage he’s done to Illinois veterans.
“Bruce Rauner’s inability to stop the Legionnaires outbreak at the Quincy veterans home falls right in line with a governor who has consistently failed Illinois veterans,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “The brave men and women who served our country deserve to live with dignity, not in fear of unsafe or unhealthy living conditions.”
