Damage Done: Illinois Economic Growth at Lowest Point in Five Years
Chicago, IL – Illinois economic growth has hit its lowest point in five years under Bruce Rauner’s failed leadership, according to the University of Illinois Flash Economic Index.
The Flash Index showed the Illinois economy growing slower than the rest of the country according to U of I economist Fred Giertz. In an indictment of Bruce Rauner’s inability to lead, he cited the state’s disastrous finances and neglected infrastructure as reasons for the lagging growth.
“Bruce Rauner has taken the Illinois economy to rock bottom, manufacturing crisis after crisis and bad mouthing the state to anyone who will listen,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Illinois continues to break records for all the wrong reasons and this failed governor’s damage is done.”
