With Time Running Out For CHIP Funding, Rauner Remains Silent
Chicago, IL – As passage of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is still stalled in Congress, Bruce Rauner has once again remained silent.
CHIP is an essential program that provides health insurance to low-income children. While the program is partially funded by state governments, federal funding was not reauthorized by theSeptember 30 deadline, putting the future of the program at risk. Now, as time is running out for the program to continue, Bruce Rauner is nowhere to be found.
“While Bruce Rauner chooses to stay silent, Illinois children are at risk of losing health insurance without CHIP,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Once again, Illinois working families are the collateral damage of Rauner’s failed leadership and crippling cowardice.”
