Bruce Rauner: “I Have No Obligation to Comment”
Rauner Refuses to Speak Out on Mass Shootings, Healthcare, and Trump’s Regressive Tax Cut
Chicago, IL – On Friday, Bruce Rauner was pressed on critical issues facing the state of Illinois: the effort to strip healthcare from millions of Illinoisans, preventing mass shootings, and Donald Trump’s regressive tax policies. Rauner’s response? “I have no obligation to comment.”
RAUNER: "I have no obligation to comment on every possible policy change in Washington, D.C. I never have and never will. So I appreciate your advocacy on that."
“Bruce Rauner saying he has no ‘obligation’ to respond to what is happening in Washington is essentially him saying that he has no obligation to do his job for this state,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Rauner’s concerns, thoughts, and prayers will do nothing for the families across Illinois who are under assault by Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans.”
