Another One Bites the Dust: Rauner Names Third Chief of Staff in Three Months
Rauner Adds Latest Addition to Ever-Changing 'Best Team in America’
Chicago, IL – In the wake of an internal revolt among Illinois Republicans, Bruce Rauner's chief of staff is out after just 88 days on the job. Rauner is ushering in his third chief of staff in three months, continuing the pattern of staff shakeups and administration upheaval.
Following a resounding defeat on the state budget where lawmakers overrode Rauner’s veto, Rauner dumped his team of ‘Superstars’ and brought in the ‘Best Team in America.’ That lasted about 37 days, before Rauner fired his entire communications team. With the termination of his chief of staff today, Rauner is now entering a new era of crisis as he ramps up for reelection, but the people of Illinois know his damage is done.
“Best of luck to Bruce Rauner’s latest chief of staff,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Based on the last 88 days, he’s going to need it.”
