Anti-Worker Bruce Rauner Puts on Hard Hat and Claims He’s “Pro-Worker”
Senate Overrides Rauner Veto on Local ‘Right to Work’ Zones in Illinois
Chicago, IL – A hard hat-wearing Bruce Rauner told steelworkers in Bourbonnais on Monday that “we’re pro-worker, we’re pro-you.” But Rauner’s record tells a different story.
Less than a month ago, Rauner vetoed a bill that would prevent local ‘right to work’ zones and a day before that his national fight against unions was elevated to the U.S. Supreme Court. Fortunately, the Senate overrode Rauner’s veto of SB 1905 yesterday, dealing another blow to his failed anti-worker agenda.
“Putting on a hard hat and saying he’s pro-worker won’t disguise Bruce Rauner’s anti-union agenda,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “This is embarrassing pandering from a governor who has spent three years working to lower wages and attack working families.”
