Rauner Wants to Partner with Trump to Attack Workers' Retirement

Chicago, IL – While Bruce Rauner says he has “no obligation to comment” on national issues like protecting healthcare for millions of Illinoisans, he’s looking to Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans to help him jeopardize workers’ retirement.
Rauner is lobbying the federal government to allow him to undermine the state constitution and slash public employee pensions, breaking contracts with hundreds of thousands of hardworking Illinoisans. This is just the latest attempt by Rauner to decimate unions and hurt working people after his legal attack on unions, Janus v. AFSCME, advanced to the Supreme Court.
“Instead of fighting Trump's attacks on healthcare, Bruce Rauner is cozying up to him to hurt working families,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Rauner can't be bothered to protect Illinoisans, but he’s the first in line to ask for help attacking hardworking people across this state.”
