Damage Done: “The Illinois Economy Continues to Sputter”
Illinois Loses 10,800 Jobs in September
Chicago, IL – According to an announcement today by the Illinois Department of Employment Security, “the Illinois economy continues to sputter” under Bruce Rauner’s failed leadership.
The numbers show a struggling economy, with 10,800 jobs lost in September alone. This marks a three-month trend of Illinois losing an average of 4,200 jobs per-month, putting the state’s unemployment rate well above the national rate.
“Bruce Rauner devastated our economy with his manufactured budget crisis, held our schools hostage, and continues bad mouthing Illinois to anyone who will listen,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “This failed governor creates crisis instead of jobs and his damage is done.”
