Damage Done: Services in Central Illinois Devastated by Rauner's Budget Crisis
Medical Service Transporting Illinoisans with Illness and Disabilities to Doctors Shuts Down
Chicago, IL – News of the damage done by Bruce Rauner’s manufactured budget crisis continues to roll in, with a number of services in central Illinois decimated.
The state was found to be far behind on payments to a Mount Sterling prison, the Christian County Health Department, and had delayed payments affecting a Decatur-based medical transportation company, Alpha & Omega. The company was forced to shut down, potentially affecting services for those without access to transportation to medical appointments.
“Illinoisans with disabilities or illnesses may not be able to get to critical healthcare appointments because of Bruce Rauner,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “No services are safe from the damage done by this failed governor and his manufactured budget crisis.”
